Bertling Miami supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM), also referred to in the United States as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM), is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure.

For example, throughout the past 30 years the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) has supported women by helping them get access to the education, screening, and support they need.
Many women are unable to afford mammography services, NBCF funding reaches and offers it to vulnerable women. This can either lead to a cancer diagnosis to be successfully treated or can offer the peace of mind of a negative result.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the team at Bertling Miami will be wearing pink masks to spread awareness to those battling the disease.

During this month Bertling are kindly reminding the ladies in our lives to have their annual mammogram done! Approximately 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime, according to www.breastcancer.org. All people whether male or female, can be affected. Prevention Saves Lives.

This year, they supported the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation by donating: Clothing for all ages, genders and occasions; Toys, games and sporting goods; Shoes, bags, luggage and accessories;Books, CDs and DVDs; Small pieces in furniture in good condition (things that can be carry by one man); Household items, like home décor, kitchen utensils, silverware, tableware and linens; Kitchen items, such as coffee makers, blenders, toasters, any small appliance in working condition;Electronics, such as lamps, MP3s, iPods, and clock radios in working condition; Tools in general.

The Florida Breast Cancer Association re-sells these items to gather money for Breast Cancer research, screenings, and to help ladies going through the treatment process.

Bertling would like to thank all colleagues from Bertling Miami for participating in this important initiative.
